Performance reviews
- Masterworks of the Slavic Christian Liturgy - St. Patrick's Basilica, Ottawa (10 November 2001)
A fine introduction for the uninitiated

... Laurence Ewashko led the Cantata Singers last night in a wonderful array of this
repertoire, which, it's safe to say, is quite unfamiliar to most of us....
Conductor Ewashko was raised as a Ukrainian Christian, so it's not
surprising that he has a feel for the music. The choir sang beautifully,
hardly news these past few seasons.... The music was all of high
quality, sometimes very high, and a fine introduction to a corner of the
repertoire that would probably reward further exploration well.
- Broadway Spectacular - National Arts Centre, Ottawa (10/11/12 May 2001)
Broadway Spectacular a hit in every way

...personable conductor Everly, and the beautifully textured tones of Laurence Ewashko's Cantata Singers.
- Carmina Burana - National Arts Centre (21/22 March 2001
Massed chorus sings medieval poems with gusto. NAC orchestra terrific in every way; singing balanced, spirited, delightful

...Laurence Ewashko led his Cantata Singers, percussionists Jonathan Wade and Kenneth Simpson and organist Chris Devlin last night in delightful renditions of the Pickett arrangements....The singing was precise, balanced and spirited. The singers were obviously having a lot of fun with it.
